General

We offer camping vans in three different categories:

  • VW T6.1 California Beach Edition without kitchen or with the optional rear kitchen
  • VW T6.1 California Ocean Edition with integrated fully equipped kitchen
  • VW Crafter Grand California 600 with integrated fully equipped kitchen and fully functional bathroom and toilet

Our Holiday Vans offer you 4-5 beds. The rear bed of the van offers space for 2-3 persons (2 Adults with a baby or child), in the elevated roof or raised bed of the van there are 2 more sleeping spaces.

The HolidayVans-Models have mainly the colours silver, grey, red or white.

Futhermore our vans are half foiled in other colours. These colour combinations are irrespective of which model and its equipment. Unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee you a particular colour for your rental.

Yes, all our vans have a removeable tow hook, which you can use for a small extra charge.

Only with the VW Crafter Grand California models there is no tow hook available, as otherwise it would be over its authorised total weight.

You can rent a bicycle rack for € 5 per night, which will carry up to 4 bicycles or 2 E-Bikes. With long term bookings there is a maximum limit of € 100 per booking.

As all our vans have reversing cameras and a parking sensor system, the view to the rear is thereby not affected.

Of course it is possible to install any child seat in your HolidayVan. You can secure any child seat with the seatbelt system. Our models additionally have an Isofix-System. Furthermore you can comfortably book a child seat or booster seat for your holiday directly from us.

Regardless whether you need a tow hook, a roof rack with or withour roof box, a bicycle rack, or a child seat, we offer you various camping extras.

Yes of course you can take your four-legged friend with you on your holiday. For anyone wanting to travel with their pets we offer our „We love Dogs“-Package, that can be booked with every van.

In all our vans there is a strict non-smoking policy. This also applies for  E-Cigarettes.  If you disobey this rule we will be obliged to charge an extra cleaning fee of € 300 and this will be taken from your security deposit.

Rent

To drive any of our vans you will need a driving licence with the Class B. Additionally you will need to be at least 18 years old and have been in possession of your licence for a minimum of one year.

The minimum rental period is 3 nights for every season.

In exceptions it is also possible to arrange rent for a shorter period. Please contact us regarding this by e-mail to office@holidayvans.at.

With us you will find various models that you can rent. The prices are sectioned out into Pre-season, High-season and Low-season. All information and prices can be found here.

With us there is no kilometer limit. You can enjoy your holiday without having to worry about keeping a check on your kilometer usage.

With us you can cancel booked extra equipment that you decide you no longer need at any time before the rental begins. We can refund the cost of the extras in the form of  a credit voucher.

We accept different payment methods: via bank transfer, online transfer, all usual credit cards and of course PayPal. We offer all payment methods without charges!

Cash payments are unfortunately not possible.

The total sum must be made either by online transfer directly with your booking or from our invoice by bank transfer within 7 days. If do not pay within these terms HolidayVans are entitled to cancel your booking.

Unfortunately it can happen that some damage occurs to our vans during the rental. Therefore with every rental undertaken with HolidayVans a security deposit of € 1000 must be made in cash at the point of collection. After proper return of the van you will of course have your deposit returned.

With each booking we charge a one-time service charge of € 95 for the VW California Beach Edition Vans and the VW California Ocean Edition Vans. With the VW Grand California Vans this amount is €159. This charge covers numerous services that relate to every booking, such as the instructions for use upon collection, the telephone support, the cleaning and disinfection after the rental, as well as refilling the gas canisters, the windscreen washer fluid or the Ad-Blue tank.

For any radar fines, traffic violation fines etc. in addition to the fine we will have to charge you an administration fee of € 25. We understand that it is already annoying enough to get a radar fine or a traffic violation fine, but we thereby also have the beaurocratic work involving time and financial administration to deal with it. We therefore ask for your understanding in this matter.

You are allowed to travel to all countries of the European Union and to Albania, Andorra, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Great Britain, Iceland, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia and Belarus.

You can collect your booked van from us from Monday to Friday between 2pm and 5pm. If your van will be available earlier we will let you know.

If you want to collect your van outside of these hours, then please let us know. We will attempt to fulfil your individual wishes as far as we possibly can.

You should return your van to us from Monday to Friday between 9am and 11am.

You should return your van in the same condition as you received it from us, cleaned inside, washed through a car wash and fully refuelled, back to the same location as you picked it up.

You will receive your vehicle from us with all fluids filled. If you should need motor oil or other fluids during your rental, please refill these at your own costs.

Furthermore the WC and water tanks must be empty.

If you can’t acheive the cleaning or if the vehicle is not properly cleaned, we will unfortunately have to charge you a cleaning fee of € 100 which we will take from the deposit you gave us.

The return to another pick-up station is not possible for logistical reasons. If it is not possible to return your van to this station for some unusual reason, then please contact us within good time at office@holidayvans.at and we will find a mutually acceptable solution.

If you wish to collect or return your van outside the normal times or on the weekend, this is eventually possible in exceptional cases. It is however possible that we will have to charge an extra fee on an invoice to accommodate this. Send us an enquiry before you book and we will answer as quickly as possible.

As our rental locations are mainly in city centres, unfortunately we do not have the ability to accommodate your parked car. However you will find several secure parking facilities or open public free parking within a close proximity to our locations for your car.
A further possibility is that you come with a second driver and take your car back home with you or even come directly with public transport to us.

If it is not possible for you to collect or return your HolidayVan at one of our locations, then send us an enquiry in good time through our Contact form and you can take advantage of our delivery and collection service for a small fee.

We have fully comprehensive insurance and third party cover for all our vans. The excess cost however is € 1000 per claim.

In the event of a breakdown or an accident you will receive immediate help through an authorised breakdown or recovery service.

If you encounter PROBLEMS, have a BREAKDOWN or ACCIDENT while underway, please note the following:

Take several photos of any damage and send them with the completed accident report by e-mail to service@holidayvans.at

In the event of an accident please also take several photos of any damages to the vehicles and fill in the international accident form (found with your vehicle papers) and send everything to service@holidayvans.at

IMPORTANT:

For us photos are the most important things for documenting the damages. Photograph the damage to your vehicle as well as that of other vehicles involved.

Also be sure to make the accident zone safe. Turn on the warning lights and put out the warning triangle (found in the vehicle)

Inform the local police (that is legally required, otherwise the insurance will not cover you!)

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, then you can do so free of charge until 60 days before your planned rental begins. In the period from 59 until 15 days before the planned rental begins, we will have to charge 50% of the rental fee. For all cancellations under 15 days befor the planned rental begins we will have to charge the full rental price.

We recommend that you take out a travel cancellation insurance.

Longterm-Rent

Under Longterm-Rent we offer longterm rental of our vans. You pay a fixed monthly rate. Included in this are the service costs, the wear and tear of parts (brakes, tyres, etc.) as well as the fully comprehensive insurance. The only costs that you have to pay yourself are the fuel costs.

In the event of a breakdown or accident you will receive immediate help through an authorised breakdown or recovery service.

With us you can rent various different HolidayVan models. The different prices relate to the length of time and the vehicle model of your longterm rental.

The longer you rent a van from us, the cheaper your fixed monthly payments will be.

The first monthly fixed rate and the Longterm sevice charge are payable directly with your booking. The further monthly fixed rates will be deducted from your account by us through SEPA direct debit, always on the first day of each rental month.

There are 1500 free kilometers per month included in your monthly fixed rate. If you do drive more, we will have to charge you € 0.40 more per extra kilometer. In these cases we can also offer you our affordable More kilometer packages ,  that you can add to your booking at the beginning.

Unfortunately even with the Longterm-Rent we cannot avoid the need to place a security deposit because even here damage may occur to the vans.

With our longeterm rentals the security deposit is one months fixed rate.

You will need to place your deposit in cash with us upon collection of your van and you will receive your deposit back when the van is returned in order.

We have fully comprehensive insurance and third party cover for all our vans. The excess is € 1000 per damage claim.

You are allowed to travel to all the countries in the European Union with your van and also Albania, Andorra, Bosnia-Herzgovina, Great Britain, Iceland, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia and Belarus.

That works very easily and un-complicated with us. You just send us a booking enquiry with your desired van, the length of rental and the collection location using our Contact form.

After we have completed all the necessary checks, we will send you an appropriate offer within 24 hours.

We can offer this rental method from a minimum period of one month. We offer you a scale of various prices.

The longer you drive one of our HolidayVans, the cheaper your monthly rate will be.

If you want to enjoy your holiday for longer than planned, then after agreement with us, you would eventually have the possibility to extend the length of your Longterm-rent. Of course then we would calculate the cheaper rental course for the extended rental period.

If you should want to end the rental earlier than planned, that is of course also possible. Please note however, that you have a cancellation period of 30 days. Furthermore it is possible that your monthly rent rate will be increased by the reduced rental period. We will have to charge you the difference on an invoice.

In the case of you receiving any radar fines, violation charges, etc., we will have to charge you an administration fee of € 25 in addition to the fine. We understand that it is annoying enough to get a radar fine or traffic violation charge, however there is a resulting beaurocratic, time consuming and financial administrative burden for us too. We therefore ask for your understanding in this matter.

Yes of course you can enjoy your holiday with your four-legged friend. For those wishing to travel with their pets we offer the „We love dogs“-package, that you can book with all our vans.

At the collection of your van, you will receive a thorough instruction from one of our staff about the operation of all the functions. You can of course also ask any quetions you have and we will answer these gladly.

When returning your van you should return it in the same condition as you received it, cleaned inside, washed through a car wash, and fully fuelled back to the same location as you collected it.

You receive the vehicle with all the fluid levels filled. If you need motor oil or other fluids on your travels , please fill these at your own costs.

Furthermore the WC and water tanks must be emptied.

If you should fail to make the end cleaning even with the best efforts or the vehicle is not cleaned properly, we will have to charge you a cleaning fee of € 100 taken from your security deposit.

Then we will go over the van together with you to check for eventual damages or extensive wear and tear. If damages or extensive wear and tear are found, we will have to charge you for them on an invoice.
